Juried Exhibit, Petrune Gallery

Petrune Gallery and the Cayuga Art Collective are planning a bonus juried show for CayAc members, to be hung in the renovated Petrune Gallery space at 126 E. State Street, 2nd floor on the Commons. The show will open on First Friday Ithaca Gallery Night, April 5th from 5-8 pm. The exhibition will be open to the public Thursday-Sunday for the month of April.

The title of the show is “Odyssey/Ithaca”. Inspired by our namesake Ithaka the Greek Island home of Odysseus, we invite you to consider how your experience living in or around Ithaca, NY intersects with the ancient Greek myth of Homer’s Odyssey. Work in the show can be expressed in a wide range of themes, including: travel by land, sea, or sky; adventure; obstacles; images of Ithaca (natural and urban landscape); homecomings; Classicism; Greek revival architecture, etc.

There is no fee to submit work but this exhibit is open only to CayAC members (everyone is welcome to join). and pay the $25 yearly member fee. For works chosen for the exhibition, the gallery will receive a commission of 30% of the sale price for sold work. 

If you are interested in submitting work, please send up to 5 photos to petrunegallery@gmail.com, by Monday, March 25. Include the artist name, title, dimensions, materials,  year created, and price,  along with a short artist statement or bio. All media welcome. Please include the gallery commission in the price. We will let you know if your work has been chosen for the show by Thursday, March 28.
